The McTigue Mill was initially built as a 15-stamp amalgamation mill around the turn of the century. During the 1930s the Recovery Milling Co. converted it to a ball and flotation mill. It was purchased by the South Comstock Gold Mines Co. in 1933, becoming known as the South Comstock Mill, producing approximately $588,000 before closing in 1940.
